This panoramic photo was taken on the Mill Hill trail inside the Finley
National Wildlife Refuge in late July, 1996. Note the large Black Oak in
the foreground, and the ferns in the understory. In late summer, the temperature
inside the forest was noticably cooler than in the surrounding fields and
pasture.
