New Features in macGIS 3.0
- Extended Legends
- Add new user defined columns to the legend pane of active maps which
can then be filled with cell counts from other data layers to show the
minimum or maximum values present that spatially coincide with the attributes
on the active map.
- Move or resize columns within the legend pane using a drag & drop
interface.
- Add as many label categories as you need.
- Improved Color Handling
- Much faster screen redraw
- Edit colors or patterns in the Legends pane with a new drag and drop
color look up table.
- Cycle up or down through the palette library with hot key commands
to find just the right set of colors or patterns to illustrate your data
effectively.
- Create new palettes using the Edit standard set command under the new
Palettes menu.
- New Analytic Tools
- In addition to the existing set of commands macGIS now allows the
user to RESCALE and COMBINE data sets, or find the areas of influence surrounding
point data with the VORONOI command. macGIS 3.0 also offers improved spatial
interpolation with the INTERPOLATE command.
- Digital Import/Export Routines
- Access digital geographic data with the new Import commands, or send
your map data to other software packages for conversion to other GIS systems,
image processing, graphic layout for presentations, or sophisticated spreadsheet
and statistical calculations. The import routines support tabular text,
DEM, Arc/Info files saved in an ERDAS format, and Mac PICT. The export
routines support saving map and/or legend as PICT, ERDAS or ASCII text.
